The municipality sets a new tax rate every year during the budget process. The amount you pay depends on your property assessment and the tax rate.
Tax rates are different for different types of property. Most properties in Neebing are assessed as rural residential. Active farms have a lower tax rate, and commercial businesses have a higher tax rate than residential properties.
The property assessment you receive from Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) shows the type of property you own.
The municipality collects taxes for provincial school boards. If you own a residential property, you can direct your taxes to support your chosen school board.
Tax rates change each year. The property tax rate bylaw is passed in May or June.
